Description
Three sheep breeds from Devon, one mill, one yarn – Devonia is a piece of English landscape in yarn form.
Devonia was the first yarn from John Arbon Textiles made exclusively from local fibers: 50% Exmoor Blueface, 30% Bluefaced Leicester, and 20% Romney. The three breeds combine to create a yarn with remarkable character – the Blueface provides bounce and lightness, the Leicester adds sheen and smoothness, and the Romney gives a golden glow and substance. Spun in the Devon mill, which has been processing wool since 1797, on restored machines with their own names and personalities. Not superwash – this yarn is alive.
With 388 m per 100 g in fingering weight, Devonia is especially suitable for shawls, scarves, and lightweight cardigans – projects that require drape, sheen, and a certain woolen liveliness. The yarn has a natural shimmer and develops a beautiful bloom after washing.
Wool with origin – from the hills of Devon to your hands.
